3 Marketing Tips for Manufacturers

It is possible for small and mid-sized manufacturers to compete with larger competitors with the strategic use of marketing. Having your products in front of your target market is the key to achieving continued growth.

Everyone can benefit from these tips I'm about to tell you.

Create a website

Do you want a salesperson on your team that is always available? This salesperson is your website. Make sure it's always updated so that it can make sales and create new leads for you. What do you need for a successful website?

- You need to focus on search engine optimization. This is the process of maximizing the number of visitors to your website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine. SEO is complicated, but it will be one of the biggest reason that will make your website visible. The words you use, the keywords in your content, inbound links to your page, title tags, the headers on your page and more will determine whether your page gets found or not. If you can spare it, pay for SEM (search engine marketing) or more well known as "paid search"

- Your website should be able to communicate with your customers during the whole sales cycle. The information on the website must be true and up to date.

- Your website needs to establish your credibility. Put some customer feedbacks or testimonials on your website. Post pictures or videos of your work. Make sure visitors know how good you are at your work.

Use Social Media

- It's FREE!
- Use it to increase your brand recognition.
- You can use it to get customer insights on your products.
- Your customers and competitors are active on social media, you should be too.

Create a Blog

Blogging has always been an important part of a company’s marketing strategy. Blogs help you significantly increase traffic to your website.  To launch a blog effectively you will want to:

Establish a Schedule

Quality is more important than quantity in the world of blogging, but shoot to have about one new blog entry a week. This will keep readers coming back for more. If it helps, divide the entries between staff members based on their area of expertise and assign a manager to keep up with the schedule and review all content.

Set a Content Strategy

Don't push sales on your blog entry. Select topics that are of genuine interest to your prospective clients.

Keep it Simple

Instead of being formal, it’s okay to be more conversational with your blog. Write the way you speak, and keep your content straightforward.
